Safe Routes to School Poster Contest – Entries due March 20, 2015
Solano County elementary and middle school students can win a bike, bike helmet and lock by entering the Bike to School Day 2015 poster contest sponsored by the Solano Safe Routes to School program.
Travel Survey Results
The SR2S program works with participating schools to conduct student travel hand tally surveys twice a year (fall/spring). These surveys are an important tool that allows us to evaluate our program. The most recent hand tally survey was conducted in October 2014 and the results of these surveys were presented to the STA Board on March 11, 2015.
Bike to School Day May 6, 2015
Hundreds of local students will strap on safety helmets and pedal to school on National Bike to School Day, Wednesday, May 6. The annual event focuses attention on the physical and environmental benefits of biking or walking to school instead of commuting by car.

The Solano Safe Routes to School program encourages parents and children to “think outside the car” and join with thousands of Solano students to walk to school on this day
Solano’s Safe Routes to School Program Awarded a $3 Million Grant!
The Solano Safe Routes to School Program was awarded a grant for $3,067 million by the Metrolpolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) which will fund infrastructure improvements at 7 Benicia and Vallejo schools, while providing education and outreach to 26 schools throughout the Cities of Benicia, Rio Vista and Vallejo
